Nairobi National Park, located on the outskirts of Kenya’s capital city, is a unique wildlife reserve known for its proximity to urban areas and its rich biodiversity. It features open grass plains that contrast dramatically with the Nairobi skyline and is renowned for its highly successful rhinoceros sanctuary, which hosts the world’s highest concentration of black rhinoceros. Further north in central Kenya’s Laikipia County lies the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. Originally a cattle ranch, it now serves as a refuge for endangered species, including some of the last remaining northern white rhinos, as well as providing sanctuary to rescued chimpanzees. Meanwhile, the Mara Ripoi Conservancy, part of the vast Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, is famed for its diverse wildlife, including large populations of Maasai giraffes, lions, cheetahs, and elephants, offering visitors a chance to experience the natural beauty and ecological richness of the region.

Nairobi
Pick up and Transfer: Guests will be picked up from Nairobi International Airport or their hotel and transferred to Nairobi National Park.
Accommodation: One-night stay at Nairobi Tented Camp, the only camp located within the park.

Nairobi to OL Pajeta conservancy
Early breakfast: Start your day with an early breakfast.
Transfer to wilson airport: After breakfast, transfer to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport for your flight to Nanyuki.
Arrival in Namnyuki: Upon landing at Nanyuki airstrip, you will be welcomed and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp.
Location: The camp is located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, at the base of Mount Kenya.
Lunch and afternoon tea: Enjoy a delicious lunch and afternoon tea upon arrival at the camp.
Afternoon game drive: Embark on a game drive in the camp’s 4x4 safari vehicle, guided by an experienced driver-guide, to explore the diverse landscapes and wildlife of Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Porini Rhino Camp, a traditional safari camp in Kenya, offers an intimate and authentic experience with just nine spacious guest tents. Each tent features a private veranda for guests to relax and soak in the beauty of the surrounding wilderness. The canvas tents, designed with three mosquito-screen walls, are bright and airy, providing an immersive experience of the African bush while maintaining comfort. Inside, the tents are furnished with a double and single bed, bedside tables, LED lamps, and a wardrobe. The en-suite bathrooms are equipped with a bucket shower, wash basin, and flush toilet, all powered by solar energy. Additional amenities include cozy duvets, soft towels, a writing desk, and chairs on the veranda for unwinding. Hot water bottles are provided to keep guests warm during cooler nights. The camp reflects the traditional style of early professional safari camps, focusing on a simple yet comfortable setup for an authentic bush experience without unnecessary frills.
Restaurant
A day at Nairobi Tented Camp in Nairobi National Park begins with a hot drink delivered to your tent before setting off on an early morning game drive. Guests can catch the first light of dawn as it warms the dewy plains and brings the park’s diverse wildlife, including giraffe, buffalo, zebra, and antelope, to life. There’s also a high chance of spotting black and white rhinos, lions, and, with luck, a leopard. After a morning of game sightings, guests return to camp for a hearty breakfast, followed by a leisurely afternoon enjoying meals and relaxing in a hammock under the shade of olive trees. The day continues with another game drive as the sun sets, offering a chance to witness lions preparing to hunt. Evenings are spent around the campfire, sharing stories before dining under the stars. Meanwhile, at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, guests benefit from a wildlife viewing hide that provides close encounters with animals in a tranquil setting. Day and night game drives with expert guides are also offered, allowing visitors to explore the wildlife-rich Mara Ripoi Conservancy, the neighboring Ol Kinyei Conservancy, and the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, ensuring a comprehensive and unforgettable safari experience.
