Nairobi, the capital of Kenya and East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city, is situated along the Nairobi River and serves as an excellent starting point for safari adventures across the country. As Africa’s fourth largest city, it boasts a vibrant café culture, nightlife, and notable attractions such as the National Museum and the Karen Blixen Museum. Just 20 minutes from the city center lies Nairobi National Park, the world’s only urban game reserve, where wild lions and buffalo roam. Further west, Nakuru is a captivating city on the shores of Lake Nakuru in the Great Rift Valley, known for its hiking trails offering stunning views of the Menengai Crater. Lake Nakuru National Park, which surrounds the city, is famous for its exceptional birdlife and diverse wildlife, including over 50 mammal species such as lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, rhinos, antelopes, and various primates. The Masai Mara National Reserve, alongside Tanzania’s Serengeti, is one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife parks, characterized by its acacia trees and expansive grasslands. The annual wildebeest migration in the Masai Mara is a spectacular event, showcasing over a million animals moving in search of rain, making it the largest mass movement of land mammals on Earth.
