What's included
The Serengeti National Park, gazetted in 1951 and covering 14,750 square kilometers, is a globally renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site and a vital hub of biodiversity. Part of a larger ecosystem that includes the Masai Mara, Grumeti and Maswa Game Reserves, and areas like Ngorongoro Conservation and Loliondo, it spans diverse landscapes from open plains to lush forests. Home to abundant bird and animal life, the park offers varied safari experiences that showcase both grand spectacles and intimate wildlife encounters. Dedicated conservation efforts continue here, supported by the Frankfurt Zoological Society, whose former president, Bernhard Grzimek, was instrumental in the park’s early preservation. Additionally, the park promotes community involvement in conservation through education initiatives, such as projects at Robanda Secondary School in partnership with Focus on Tanzanian Communities (FoTZC). A safari in the Serengeti not only provides a memorable experience but also directly supports the sustainability of this extraordinary ecosystem and its communities.
